Play Smart, Leave Happy (“we,” “this site”) sells one ebook and gives away a research report and a simulator. We collect as little personal information as that requires, and this page describes all of it in plain language.
This is a static website. We set no cookies, run no analytics, and use no advertising or tracking of any kind. Our hosting provider, Netlify, records standard server logs (such as IP addresses) to operate and secure the service; see Netlify’s privacy policy.
The simulator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter into it is transmitted to us or stored anywhere.
The book is sold through Gumroad, which is the seller of record and processes your payment. We never see your card details. Gumroad provides us with your name, email address, and purchase record so we can deliver the book, answer support questions, and process refunds. See Gumroad’s privacy policy for how they handle payment information.
One thing worth knowing: the PDF you purchase is watermarked with the email address you used at checkout. This is a light anti-piracy measure and the only additional use we make of your purchase information.
If you sign up for the free report, you are giving express consent to receive it plus occasional emails from Dean Barlow about disciplined slot play. We use double opt-in: you confirm your address before anything is sent. Our email service provider stores your email address and the record of your consent (date and signup source). Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe that takes effect immediately, and unsubscribing deletes you from future sends. We never sell, rent, or share the list with anyone, and we comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not run ads. We do not share your information with anyone except the service providers named above (Netlify, Gumroad, and our email service provider), each of which processes it only to provide their service. Some of these providers operate in the United States, so your information may be processed there.
Purchase records are kept as long as tax law requires. Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve the question.
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email deanbarlowauthor@gmail.com and it will be handled promptly, without hoops — same policy as refunds.
This site and its products are intended only for people of legal gambling age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date. It won’t change in spirit: minimal collection, no sharing, easy exit.
